Jill Fukunaga
Jill Fukunaga launched her Legal Operations career in 2013 as Corporate Counsel at Symantec Corporation, where she supported the operations of a fast-paced legal department with over 200 team members. When Symantec divested its data storage business and formed Veritas Technologies, Jill joined the legal leadership team and built the legal operations function from the ground up for the newly independent company.
Since then, Jill has held leadership roles across public and private sectors, including at KPMG, where she served as a management consultant advising legal departments on driving efficiency and cost savings through technology and process improvements. Over the past decade, she has led initiatives in legal tech implementation, outside counsel and budget management, and legal department communications and training—always focusing on practical outcomes and measurable value.
Before transitioning to Legal Operations, Jill was a seasoned employment litigator. She also holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science and previously worked as a law librarian and lecturer at UCLA and the University of San Francisco. Jill serves on CLOC’s Education Advisory Council and frequently speaks about Legal Operations best practices. She is based in San Francisco.
